Swimming Pool Filters

Swimming Pool Filters come in all shapes and sizes. Two of the more common types of pool filters are the cartridge filter and the sand filter. The cartridge filter uses a permanent filter material that the pool water is filtered through. When the cartridge filter gets dirty it's just a case of removing it and flushing it. However cartridge filters have a limited life so once it's too dirty then replace it with a new one. A sand pool filter on the other hand filters the pool water through sand. Once it gets too dirty then the sand is cleaned by back washing the whole unit. If the sand gets too dirty then just replace the sand. Overall a cartridge filter is probably more straight forward to maintain. Whatever pool filter you decide to use remember that a swimming pool filter is the main piece of pool equipment so choose a suitable pool filter for your particular swimming pool.
