How do I prevent plants from growing on a swimming pool?
The swimming pool is above the ground. The plants were mostly vines. The pool has also had plants lean towards the pool.
This makes it more difficult to swim and damages the metal of the pool.
I have nothing against plants.
Is there a swimming pool in Southern California that will allow my dog to swim?
I have three dogs that love to swim and I would like to find a swimming pool that we enjoy together.
Where should a swimming pool light be positioned?
I am having an in-ground swimming pool built. I wonder if the positioning of the light in the jaccuzzi part makes a difference. Does it look any different if facing away from the house (which is the view most will have of it) or toward the house? Will the water just refract the light in every direction anyway? I appreciate feedback from pool builders as well as pool owners.
The main pool light is facing away, but because of it's shape, it is not facing directly away. Should the two match?
How good is swimming and playing in the pool?
I want to tone my body, but I don't like running or walking on the treadmill or outdoors. I enjoy playing in the swimming pool. I play in a 11ft pool where I am constantly moving my body to stay afloat. I also do 2-3 laps. I am learning how to dive. My heart rate goes up and I feel tired at the end. I have a good weight and I eat healthy.
Would doing this help me get toned? Do I need to do weights?

How does a swimming pool salt ionizer work?
A friend of mine has a "saltwater" swimming pool, it does not require the addition of any chlorine. Does anyone know how the chemistry of the ionizer works, ie how does it convert simple NaCl to hypochlorite? Is the chlorine level in this type of pool lower than a chlorinated pool? Is the level of Chlorine gas lower?
Swimming pool?
We have an above ground pool and we have it installed, and when we go to backwash, there is no hose, so it shoots out the side of the pump. We live in a small neighborhood and the houses are close together.
Do you have any suggestions on how we could safely backwash without hurting our property, or the property of those around us.
I dont have enough yard to let it just backwash from a hose into the yard. I live in the middle of the city in a "tight" fitted neighborhood.

My question is can you make the water in your automatic swimming pool cleaner's pipes spiral. Speeding up water flow, greater suction power, faster automatic swimming pool cleaner, a turning force is created on the swimming pool pipes.
The automatic swimming pool cleaner will be able to turn itself out of tight spots.
Who is responsible for the swimming pool filter when renting a home?
We moved into our rental home in December 2008. Our home has an in-ground swimming pool. We had the pool professionally opened on May 7th. The pool company said the filter is broken and needs to be replaced. The cost of replacing the filter and having it installed is 00. I contacted the home owner and she said they don't have the money to replace the filter at this time. Who is responsible for replacing the swimming pool filter?
I also wanted to know if it would be OK to deduct 00 from next months rent to pay for the filter?

Easy set-up 3-4ft. deep,here's the problem. Our house is located on a hill,the only flat place is on our deck.The deck is not really the idea place,worried with the weight.Is there an easy solution,or would the deck be ok? Any other suggestions would help,thanks
